Actim RSV rapid test - Simple test procedure
With a simple Actim RSV dipstick test, taken from a respiratory sample, you can now make the diagnosis in just 15 minutes.
- Specimen is respiratory sample
- Collect a sample: nasopharyngeal swab, nasal / nasophryngeal aspirate or wash
Extraction
- Add the Extraction Buffer (and Saline Solution if necessary) to the test tube - mix well
- Place the swab in the test tube and swirl around for ~10 seconds
- Leave swab in to extract for 5 minutes
Dipping
- Dip the yellow area of the dipstick into the Extraction Buffer
- Hold it there until the liquid front reaches the result area
Test results - in 15 minutes
- Positive result can be read as soon as it becomes visible = one blue line and one black line= RSV positive
- Negative result should be confirmed at 15 minutes = one black line = RSV negative
