Only a 10 µl sample is needed
The test requires only a 10 µl whole blood sample. The sample can be collected from the fingertip with the end to end capillaries provided with the kit. Alternatively, EDTA, citrate or heparin blood can be used.
Results are clearly visible in five minutes
After you have taken the sample, quickly dilute and mix it in the buffering solution provided and dip the Actim CRP dipstick in the solution. Wait for five minutes and read the result.
Semiquantitative results
The rapid test has three different detection limits making it possible to estimate the serum CRP levels. Note that even though the sample is whole blood, the detection limit levels correspond to the serum levels of CRP.
Detection limits of the test
The lowest detectable level of CRP is 10 mg/l. If the serum concentration is above this level, the first blue line starts to appear at the lower end of the result area. The second line appears if the level exceeds 40 mg/l and if three blue lines are visible, the CRP level is >80 mg/l.
