Actim Pancreatitis is an immunological rapid test to detect trypsinogen-2 in urine samples. Trypsinogen-2 levels become strongly elevated in the urine of patients with acute pancreatitis. They also remain elevated for several days or even weeks, making accurate diagnosis possible even at delayed admission.

Sample collection

The sample is urine. The samples should be tested as soon as possible after sample collection to avoid degradation of trypsinogen-2. After collection, the sample can be stored for one working day at refrigerator temperature +2 - 8 °C before testing. If the sample needs to be stored longer, it should be frozen.

Storage

The dipsticks in an unopened tube can be stored at +2 - 8 °C until the expiry date marked on the package label. Please note that the kit needs to reach room temperature before testing. The dipsticks must be used within 4 months after the tube has been opened for the first time.

Test performance

The test is performed by dipping the dipstick into the sample until the liquid front becomes visible in the result area. Pay attention to the yellow dip area. The upper limit is marked with a line of black arrows. It is important not to dip beyond this limit. In case of such "overdipping" there is a risk of an invalid test result.
