A quick, precise screening test for acute pancreatitis.

Acute pancreatitis is a serious disease in which 20-30% of patients may develop severe pancreatitis with a mortality rate of up to 40%. Since treatment is more likely to succeed if initiated early, rapid diagnosis of acute pancreatitis is vital.

Actim™ Pancreatitis is an immunochromatographic dipstick test based on monoclonal antibodies detecting trypsinogen-2 in urine. Trypsinogen-2 is a more reliable marker for acute pancreatitis than amylase as its levels rise very quickly in acute pancreatitis patients and remain elevated for days or even weeks, whereas amylase levels start to decline after 1-3 days.

This specific and sensitive test can rule out acute pancreatitis with 99% certainty, thus allowing patients with other conditions to be correctly diagnosed sooner. The accurate screening is easy to perform and enables patients really at risk to undergo further testing procedures as early as possible.
