Actim Partus is an immunological rapid test to estimate the cervical ripeness and the risk of preterm delivery. It detects phosphorylated IGFBP-1 in extracted cervical fluid samples. Phospohrylated IGFBP-1 is the tissue form of IGFBP-1 produced by the decidual cells, and it is released to the cervical canal when the cervix matures.

Sample collection

The sample is cervical fluid collected from the endocervix with a dacron swab provided in the test package. After collection, the swab should be immediately transferred to the Specimen Extraction Solution and extracted by shaking the swab in the tube for 10 seconds. It is recommened to test the sample immediately, but if necessary the sample can also be stored for up to 4 hours before testing.

Storage of the test

The kit can be stored at +2-8 °C. Please note that the components need to reach room temperature before testing. The tests can be stored for 2 months also at room temperature, provided that the expiry date is not exceeded.
