Manufacturing Module
Depending on the process specifications, the monoclonal antibodies are manufactured using a cell line delivered by the client or optimized by utilizing our expertise. In the in vitro production phase, cells are cultured using the defined cell culture medium, equipment and processes specified by the client or developed by us using the latest production technology.
Our manufacturing capacity extends from a few hundreds of milligrams to hundreds of grams. The manufacturing can be performed either as a single production run or so that enough material is obtained for several years as most antibodies remain intact for several years if the culture supernatant is stored frozen.
We use routinely protein- or serum free media for antibody production to lower production costs. Serum-free medium is also the best choice to avoid problems and cost of purifying monoclonal antibodies from a heterologous protein background. Other problems such as fluctuating supply, lot-to-lot variations that can affect cellular functions, and the risk of contamination by mycoplasma and viruses can be avoided with the use of serum free media.
